Q: How much does a truck driver get paid?
A:  The average annual pay for entry level truck drivers is $60K - $80K, with increases as experience is acquired. 
Q: How long does it take to become a truck driver?
A: As little as 4 weeks. Here at Taylor Driving School (TDS) we strive to completely train and prepare all our students to pass the Washington State Class A Exam. 
Q: What types of Commercial Driver’s Licenses (CDL) are there?
A:  There are three types of CDL’s: 
•    Class A: Combination vehicle that is towing 10,001 pounds and or has a combined weight of 26,001 pounds or greater. 
•    Class B: A vehicle without a trailer weighing less than 26,000 lbs and or a passenger vehicle for 16 or more passengers. 
•    Class C: a vehicle weighing less than 26,001 pounds carrying hazardous materials and or a school bus

Q: What truck driving jobs are available once I complete school?
A: There are roughly 51,000 jobs available for CDL drivers in the U.S., many of which are available right out of school. We assist with job placement before and after graduation and currently have a 95% job placement rate.

Q:  What do I need to get my learner permit?
A: You need a valid Washington State driver’s license and one of the following:
   *Certified copy of birth certificate (no copies, it must have a raised seal)
   *Valid U.S. Passport
   *Green Card – proof of U.S. Citizenship
   *Work Permit – Visa with at least 1 year until expiration
*If your last name differs on any of your proof of identification, you will need to provide documentation for the name change (example: marriage certificate, etc.)
Q: When can I start Taylor Driving School?
A: Start dates vary depending on classroom availability. Usually you can start in the next available class, however those enrolled in a work source program, or other funding programs, must be approved and have documentation of approval before their start date. 

Q: How long are the classes? What is the schedule?
A:  TDS offers weekday and weekend classes, therefore the length of the program will vary depending which class you select. 

The weekday course is 4 weeks, Monday – Thursday from 7a.m. – 5:30p.m. The weekend course is 7 weekends, Saturday and Sunday only, from 7a.m. – 5:30p.m. 

Q: What is the total cost of a truck driving course?
A:  The total cost out is $4,585.00.  This includes your tuition and books, initial drug test, permit test, and final skills test. 
Q: What Payment options are available to me?
A:  We accept cash and major credit cards for tuition.
